At 2.96%, Assam Sees Sharp Dip In Covid-19 Cases

Assam on Tuesday registered 3,948 fresh cases of Covid-19 with a sharp decline is the positivity rate of 2.96 per cent.

The active caseload stood at 49,158 and the overall caseload count was pushed to 4,42,694.

Moreover, 43 deaths were reported and 3,419 recovered patients were discharged.

The new cases were detected out of the 1,33,212 Covid tests conducted of which, the highest cases were registered from Cachar at 394, Kamrup Metro at 341, Nagaon at 247, and Dibrugarh at 243.

The total recoveries of the state has touched 3,88,451 with a recovery rate of 87.75 per cent.

Further, the Covid related fatalities have climbed to 3,738 with a death rate of 0.84 per cent.

Today's deaths were recorded from: Kamrup Metro (7), Cachar (6), Dibrugarh (6), Nagaon (3), Sonitpur (3), Karimganj (2), Sivasagar (2), South Salmara (2), Tinsukia (2), Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Darrang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Hojai, Kamrup Rural, Karbi Anglong, Lakhimpur, and Nalbari each reported a single death.
