Autonomous Council polls: Jan 21 declared public holiday

The Assam Government has declared January 21 as Public Holiday due to the elections at Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC), Mising Autonomous Council (MAC) and Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council (SKAC).

The government and private offices, schools, colleges and banks will be remained closed on the above mentioned dates. The industries and commercial complexes will also remain closed due to the elections on January 21 under NI Act holidays.

While the poll in Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC), Mising Autonomous Council (MAC) and Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council (SKAC) will start from on January 21, the counting will start from 8 am on January 28.
