Members of the Assam unit of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal and Yogi Sammilani on Monday evening carried out protests at the Abhayapuri police station demanding the immediate arrest of a kidnapper who abducted a young woman.

Amid the imposed lockdown and curfew, the protestors violated the law and were seen protesting at the police station last evening.

The missing accused Meraj Ahmed had abducted the victim and had circulated videos of the woman containing sexual elements. The accused is yet to be arrested.

Meanwhile, the police have rescued the victim.

Abhayapuri is situated in Bongaigaon district.
