Bangladesh PM to visit India to discuss NRC with Modi

After the publication of National Register of Citizens(NRC), Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to visit India fromOctober 3 to October 6. During her visit, she will hold talks with Indian PrimeMinister Narendra Modi regarding the people excluded from the NRC in Assam.

According to reports, the Bangladeshi PM is expectedto bring up Dhaka's concerns regarding those excluded from the NRC could bedeported.

The issue of deportation has come up after severalpoliticians as well as public organisations demanded the Centre to convinceBangladesh to accept its citizens who had settled in India illegally.

It may be mentioned here that External AffairsMinister S Jaishankar has earlier informed Bangladesh that the NRC is aninternal matter of India.
