Barpeta: Congress’ Abdul Khaleque clinches seat

At a time time when India has been coloured saffron, in Assam's Barpeta constituency, people have given their mandate supporting Abdul Khaleque of Congress.

Khaleque has been successful in grasping 645173 votes in the minority dominated constituency, winning the seat with a margin of 140,307 votes.

Although the AGP- BJP aliance's AGP candidate Kumar Deepak Das gave a tough fight to the winner, but trailed behind winning 504866 votes.
