Continuingits crackdown against jihadis in the State, the Barpeta Police on Sundayarrested two more jihadi from Barpeta and Nalbari district, taking the totalnumber of arrested jihadis to seven within five days.

Aheadof the Independence Day, the Barpeta police arrested one identified as SafikulIslam in connection with his suspected involvement with jihadi groups. Safikulwas arrested from Kaplabori area under Nalbari district.

On theother hand, acting on a tip off, the Barpeta Police also arrested anothersuspected JMB member from Howly area in Barpeta district. The arrestedsuspected jihadi has been identified as Danish Ali.

Earlieron Saturday, the Barpeta police have arrested one JMB member identified asMustafijur Rahman from Barpeta district. Prior to that, they have arrested fourmore jihadis from different locations in Barpeta and Chirang districts.
