Bisleri water banned in Assam

TheFood Safety Department of Assam Government has prohibited the sale of brandpackaged drinking water Bisleri with immediate effect. The ban has been imposedunder the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

Accordingto reports, the Food Safety Department imposed the ban on Bisleri as testreports of samples revealed the presence of fluoride, higher than the prescribed limit, in Bisleripackaged drinking water. The sample was collected on April 6.

It maybe mentioned here that Bisleri has its production house at Kamalpur area inKamrup district.

Theban will remain in force for 30 days in the State.
