The BJP on Sunday announced itscandidates for Assam Assembly by-elections. The party has fielded Bijay Malakarin Ratabari, Towfiqur Rahman in Jania, Rajen Borthakur in Rangapara andNabanita Handique in Sonari assembly constituencies.

The by-election is going to beheld on October 21. Sonari, Rangapara, Ratabari and Jania constituencies wererepresented by Tapan Kumar Gogoi (BJP), Pallab Lochan Das (BJP), KripanathMalla (BJP) and Abdul Khaleque (Congress) respectively.

The last date of filingnominations is September 30. The poll results will be announced on October 24.

Earlier, the Congress has alsoannounced its candidates' list on Saturday for the coming by-elections.
