In a sensational incident, BJP leader Hiranya Patharihas been attacked by unidentified miscreants under Agia police station area inGoalpara district on Saturday night.

According to reports, Pathari was visiting CM's Officeron Special Duty (OSD) Prakash Kashyap's home in Lakhipur. The miscreants stoppedPathari's vehicle while he was returning to Guwahati.

"The group of five miscreants asked me to get out of the car and attempted to kidnap me," said Pathari, who sustained minor injuries during the incident.

However, locals gathered at the spot immediately afterPathari asked for help and the team of miscreants escaped.

Meanwhile, the BJP leader lodged a complaint againstthe unidentified miscreants at the Agia PS.

It may be mentioned here that Pathari joined the BJPfrom KMSS in April this year.
