The Congress-called Bharat Bandh has effected normal life in Assam. Many parts of the state has been totally shut. There have been reports of protest in several parts with burning tyres and stopping the traffic.

As per reports, there has also been tensed situation in Hojai police point, with former Congress Minister Ardhendu Dey being attacked while supporting the Bandh.

Dey alleged that BJP workers, who wanted to defy the Bandh call and open shops, had attacked him.

The entire incident had taken place in the presence of the police, who subsequently saves the Congress leader from the attacking crowd.
