Black day October 30

Pratidin Bureau

October 30, a day marked as black day in the history of Assam.  It has been 10 years since more than hundreds had lost their lives in a serial blast in the state.

These blasts planned by NDFB's Ranjan Daimary saw bloodshed in ganeshguri, panbazar, Kachari, Barpeta, Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon. This day has not been forgotten by the people of Assam with its mention still powerful to give you goosebumps as it had claimed 72 innocent lives in Guwahati alone.

To pay tribute to the departed souls a programme has been arranged in Ganeshguri and Kachari.

Entangled in political push and pulls, the importance of the incident had been long lost with still families left with no compensation.
