In an utter inhuman incident, the body of a newborn baby was found abandoned near a river in Diphu under Karbi Anglong on Thursday morning. The newborn was found lying near the river‚ wrapped in a towel.

Locals after noticing a body of the newborn informed police and civil hospital, but unfortunately, nothing could be done and the baby had to be declared dead.

Meanwhile, police reached the scene for further investigations. Notably, a few days back, three bodies of newborns were found in Diphu inside a dustbin.
