Bolin Bordoloi doubts Congress of selling ticket

Pratidin Bureau

The Congress has released the last list of candidate from Assam for the Lok Sabha Elections. The party fielded Bobbeeta Sharma from the Guwahati seat. After being denied party ticket, two top contenders from the seat Bolin Bordoloi and Dwijen Sharma expressed their displeasure over the party leaders' decision.

Bolin Bordoloi, the son of first CM of Assam, Late Gopinath Bordoloi, doubted the party of selling tickets. He is also likely to quit Congress to contest the election as an independent candidate. However, Bordoloi said that decision regarding contesting elections will be taken within 2-3 days after discussions with his supporters.

On the other hand, senior Congress leader Dwijen Sharma said, "Ripun Bora had promised me of giving ticket from Guwahati, but the party has fielded a candidate, who is inexperienced and never visited the constituency." Earlier, Sharma sought party ticket from Mangaldoi constituency and later took the decision of contesting the elections from Guwahati seat.
