Brutal Attack On Non-Tribals in Shillong, CM Condemns

Pratidin Bureau

Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma, condemned the unfortunate incident of Lawsohtun, Shillong, where a group of non-tribal boys was assaulted by certain miscreants on Friday. As per reports, in what appears to be a hate crime, the victims, who were playing basketball in a court, were locked up there and subjected to blows with rods, sticks and bamboos. At least, 5 boys were reportedly badly injured.

Sangma took to twitter, and without mincing words, wrote, "I strongly condemn the assault on 5 boys yesterday in Lawsohtun, Shillong. An assault on any citizen of the State irrespective of background or community will not be tolerated. Perpetrators of such heinous crimes will be charged by law. Action will be taken."
