BTC to build Statue of Martyr Basumatary

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has granted Rs 5 lakh to the family members of Moneswar Basumatary, who was martyred in the deadly terror attack on February 14 in Jammu & Kashmir's Pulwama. Earlier, the Assam Government had allotted an ex gratia of Rs. 20 lakh for the family.

BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary on Sunday handed over the sanction letter to martyr Basumatary's wife, his son and his daughter at their residence at Kalbari under Baksa district.

Mohilary also announced that two statues of Moneswar Basumatary will be constructed in Kokrajhar and Tamulpur.
