Burha PS Incident: KMSS Stages Protest

TheKrishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has staged protest in Kalgachia against theincident of Burha police outpost. The Sub-Inspector of the police outpost,Mahendra Sarma has brutally assaulted a pregnant lady along with her twosisters in the police station.

The KMSS have also burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and demanded strict action against the sub-inspector. They also demanded that the SI should be given jail imprisonment.

It may be mentioned that the three women alleged that they were brought from their house at Satgaon and Six Mile area in Guwahati to the police outpost by its officer in charge Mahendra Sarma and later they were allegedly brutally tortured overnight by him along with a woman police constable. The women alleged that they were beaten up with batons in private parts by SI Sarma, two constables and a woman police constable inside the police station. One of the women had been pregnant for two months. The pregnant woman stated that she had to terminate her pregnancy after the injuries.
