CAA: Cottonians wear black badges during exam

The students of Cotton University woreblack badges on Friday, demanding that the state be exempted from theCitizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA).

Earlier, students of sevenuniversities and several colleges of the state had jointly staged a protestagainst the Citizenship (Amendment) Act at the Gauhati University campus onWednesday. The students also declared a war against the government policy andthe Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and vowed to continue their agitations againstthe Act.

In the wake of the widespread protests and outrage, the Universitypostponed its examinations to avoid any kind of untoward situation.

An official message says that all end semester examinations of UG 1st and 3rd semesters, PG 1st and 3rd Semester, MCA 1st, 3rd, 5th semester and HS 2nd year and pre-final examinations are rescheduled to be held in January 2020.
