CAB: AICC Challenges Cabinet’s Decision

After the union cabinet cleared the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) on Wednesday, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has challenged the bill.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi has emphasized the issue and planned to challenge the bill.

The move of AICC has come after the leader of the opposition from Assam, Debabrat Saikia has written to the Congress President to oppose the bill.

Meanwhile, theCongress MPs have staged protest in front of the Parliament demanding to scrapthe bill.

Congress along with other political and non-political parties have opposed CAB and launched an agitation in different parts of the state opposing CAB after the cabinet passed the bill.

The bill islikely to be placed in the Lok Sabha on December 9 and Rajya Sabha on December10.
