After Assam Chief Minister and BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, black flags were waved at Congress MP from Silchar Sushmita Dev. According to reports, black flags were waved at MP Sushmita Dev on Sunday at Madhurband under Cachar district in the Barak Valley.

Black flags were showed to MP Dev in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. Notably, despite Brahmaputra valley Congress leaders' opposition to the bill, the Silchar MP has been directly or indirectly voicing in support of the Bill.

Hundreds of people on Sunday waved black flags at the MP, while she was on her way to take part in a party meeting. The incident triggered tension in the area and police and CRPF were deployed to control the situation.

It should be mentioned that people in Barak valley have been also protesting against the much debated bill, since it was passed in Lok Sabha earlier this month.
