Cab driver allegedly jumps into Brahmaputra River from Saraighat Bridge

Seemingly, in an incident of suicide, a cab driver had plunged into the Brahmaputra River from the Saraighat Bridge on Friday.

According to reports, the car, bearing the registration number – AS 25 BC 6350, belonging to the driver has been recovered from the bridge.

The driver has been identified as one Sonmani Kalita hailing from Nalbari.

Allegedly, Kalita had gone into depression due to his financial instability and heavy debts which finally led him to take upon such a drastic step.

NDRF and SDRF have been deployed in search of the body. The search operation is still on.
