Cachar Cancels Ferry Services As Barak River Swells

Cachar has temporarily halted all ferry services on the Barak river as the river starts flowing above the danger level.

This has been announced by the Executive Engineer of Water Transport Department B Choudhary through a notification.

The decision comes in the backdrop of incessant rains swelling the water level of the Barak river.

As learnt, the river which is in spate right now can take an even more dangerous form any moment.

Thus, for the safety of the people venturing out into the river, the said decision to cancel all ferry service has been taken.
