Chabua reports first COVID-19 death

The first death of a coronavirus victim in the Chauba district of Assam has been reported on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as one Indrani Phukan. 78-year-old Phukan belonged to Tengakhat of Dibrugarh and passed away in Tata Referral Hospital of Chabua.

Entry to the hospital has been closed as many doctors, nurses and other medical staff came in close contact with the deceased.
