With the prevalence of child marriage in the incident, the incidents are increasing in the state of Assam especially in Hojai district. Childline has rescued another child from Lanka in Hojai who was being forced to sit in marriage by her parents. The 15-year old girl has been rescued by with the help of Lanka police from Bhalukmari in Lanka.

The child was rescued after the police were informed by some internal source. The parents want to conduct her marriage but she was rescued before she was about to sit in the rituals.

The girl identified has been sent to Nagaon state home and on Sunday she has been sent to child welfare committee. The girl will be produced in CWC on Monday.
