Children’s Day: Snehalaya to Organize Awareness against child labour

On the occasion of Children's Day, a legal awarenesscamp on child labour will be held at Chandrapur Junior Basic School on theoutskirts of Guwahati on Thursday.

Organised by Snehalaya and supported by Bachpan BachaoAndolan in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority Kamrup (M), thecamp will deliberate on issues related to build a child-friendly city.

"The camp will focus on building a child-friendly city and region where all children, particularly the young at risk will enjoy their basic rights," stated an official release.

The camp will also focus on providing shelter to the homeless children and build the capacity of the Young at Risk (YaR) using the educational system of Don Bosco by imparting education and skills training.

"The camp will also advocate for child rights by networkingwith all like-minded people, government & non-governmental organizationsthrough community-based programmes," the release further added.
