Chirang: Dist Admin To keep Strict Vigilance Against Drink and Drive in New Year

Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah on Tuesday said that the administration will act strict against drunk driving in New Year 's Eve.

The Chirang Deputy Commissioner in a press conference held at DC Office in Kajalgaon said that they will take steps in order to prevent accidents on December 31 and January 1. He said that no one could drink and drive in the name of New Year. "Many accident cases reported on December 31 and January 1 as most of the people consume alcohol to celebrate the New Year. But this year we will be strict enough against drunk driving so that we could prevent the accidents," said Shah.

He further stated that the picnickers will have to leave the picnic spot before 5 pm and that no drivers will be allowed to drink and drive.

The district administration will also launch operation against drunk driving and will also impose fine if any individual violate the norms on New Year.
