Chirang: Is the police involved in cow smuggling?

Pratidin Bureau

Injuring members of the Koch Rajbongshi Sangram Samiti (KRSS) for trying to stop cow smugglers from smuggling cows, Chirang district's Dhaligaon Police's ignorance has proved that the police is involved in the syndicate.

On Sunday night, members of KRSS informed the Dhaligaon police about the illegal carrying of cows, but what was surprising was that instead of going after the smugglers, the police beat up the KRSS members.

It may be noted that the KRSS members are still admitted to the Bongaigaon Agarwal Nursing Home.

In the state's bordering areas smuggling of cows are on the rise. It has been repeatedly alleged by various social organisations that police is deeply involved in the syndicate making the smuggling of cows easier.
