City witnesses ‘Khilanjiyar Bajra Ninad’

The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) along with 30 other indigenous organisations carried Khilanjiyar Bajra Ninad, a massive protest against the much debated Citizenship (Amendment) Bill at Latasil playground in Guwahati on Wednesday. Thousands of people also extended their support to the protest rally.

Several artists of the State including Zubeen Garg, Moloya Goswami, Mahendra Hazarika and other also participated in the protest rally. Assam heart throb Zubeen sang his recently released song Politics Nokoriba Bondhu from the album Maa.

Man Opposes Citizenship Bill With Blood

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) also extended their support to the rally organised by AASU and the party leaders also took part in the protest. Aditya Khaklary of Tribal Sangha announced to launch 'BJP Hatao' programme from February 1, in tribal dominated areas, if the Bill is passed in Rajya Sabha.

ABSU president Pramod Boro, on the other hand, threatened to launch protest against the Bill, without leaving any stone unturned. AASU general secretary Lurin Jyoti Gogoi compared Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal to a spineless Lora Roja.

The Sadou Assam Karmachari Parishad, litterateurs and intelligentsia also extended their support to the Khilanjiyar Bajra Ninad programme.
