CM applauds Village Rockstars

Village Rockstars has not only rocked various film festivals in India and abroad but is also rocking all over Assam. The Rima Das directional has been able to collect bags full of appreciation and has also been successful in attracting Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to the theatre to watch the film.

Yes, a rather rare scene in Guwahati's Anuradha Cineplex was witnessed on Thursday as CM along with many other MLAs and Ministers visited the Cineplex to support Rima Das on the way to the Oscars journey. Prashanta Phukan, Pallab Lochan Das and Angurlata Deka were among those who accompanied the CM to the theatre.

Speaking to the media after watching the film, CM Sonowal said that the film is a masterpiece and urged all the people of Assam to head to the theatres. The CM, who was welcomed with a Gamusa while setting foot in the theatre by the owner, said that the film made him feel nostalgic and that it reminded him of his younger days.

Almost all the theatres with Village Rockstars on their 'currently showing' list have housefull boards displayed outside. Long queues of people among which MLAs and ministers of Congress were also seen booking their tickets on Thursday.
