CM Asks DCs To Disburse NH Land acquisition cases

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has asked the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to fast track the disbursement of compensation in land acquisition cases for construction of 4-lane National Highway in the state.

Takingup the issue of slow pace of four-laning of national highways in the state byNHIDCL, CM Sarbananda Sonowal directed the DCs to disburse all payments to landowners whose lands had been acquisitioned for four lane construction withinSeptember 30.

Sayingthat there were allegations of some DCs wilfully holding back payments to landowners, Sonowal warned that strong action would be taken against DCs foundguilty of anomaly in this regard and thereby delaying the four-laning processin the state.  

Reiteratingthat making a corruption free state was one of the top priorities of the stategovernment, Chief Minister Sonowal asserted that people had high hopes fromthis government as it had carried out a ruthless campaign against corruptionand urged DCs and SPs to make their best efforts to completely eliminatecorrupt practices from the system.
