CM reviews Assam flood situation

Assam ChiefMinister Sarbananda Sonowal reviewed the flood situation through videoconferencing with all the DCs of the state on Thursday.

Takingstock of the situation, the CM has urged the DCs to stay alert and has directedto keep control rooms active in order to serve the flood affected round theclock.

Sonowal has also asked the DCs of the affected districts to take appropriate measures to provide medical assistance to the flood affected and has also ordered that if in any case there is a scarcity of doctors, then the Health Director be contacted as soon as possible.

Expressing concern over medical assistance for the animals and scarcity of food and drinking water in the areas affected by flood, the CM has asked apt measures be taken up.

During thevideo conference, the Chief Minister has ordered to make arrangements forregular police patrolling.

In orderto prevent any untoward incidents due to electrocution, he has also asked thedistrict administration to be alert and to take precautions to curb suchinstances.

Keeping in mind the rising cases of Japanese Encephalitis and Malaria in the state, Sonowal has directed blood samples be collected from all the relief camps in order to detect and curb such infection.

A one-timecompensation be granted to those who had lost their lives in the floods,ordered the CM.

WithKaziranga also submerged by flooding waters, Sonowal also took stock of theWildlife Sanctuary.

Speakingon the rising cases of landslide in Guwahati, the Chief Minister has urged theadministration to identify the landslide prone areas and spread awareness amongthe people of the city.Sarbananda Sonowalhas urged all the government employees and officials to cooperate under theleadership of all the DCs and work for the people those who have been affectedby the devastating floods of Assam.
