CM Sonowal hoists tricolour in Guwahati

As India celebrates its 73rd Independence Day, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal unfurled the National Flag in Guwahati at the Veterinary College ground at Khanapara.

Addressing the gathering after hoisting the Indian tricolour, the Chief Minister presented a brief report of the functioning of his government during the past one year. The Chief Minister in his speech also made a slew of promises for the development in various sectors of the State.

Sonowal also offered floral tributes to the brave souls at Shraddhanjali Kanan, Guwahati on the occasion.

Sonowal's cabinet colleagues and senior officials hoisted the tricolour at celebration venues in different districts.

On the occasion of Independence Day today, thousands in Guhawati took to the streets riding on cycles, motorcycles and waving the flag.
