CM Sonowal seeks help from Amol Palekar to develop Assamese Film Industry

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday sought help from veteran film actor Amol Palekar to design a road map for the development of the Assamese Film Industry.

The CM met Palekar and talked on a wide range of issues concerning Assamese cinema; Sonowal also requested him Palekar to collaborate with the local film personalities.

Assam State Film Finance Development Corporation (ASFFDC) Chairman Jatin Bora and Vice Chairman Abhijit Kumar Nath were also present during the discussion.

"They also talked on a Film Policy for Assam which will essentially act as a guide line for taking Assamese cinema forward" an official release stated.

Palekar appreciated the government's initiative for the development of regional cinema.
