Congress leader caught with several lakhs in his car

In the run-up to the panchayat election in the State cash worth several lakhs found inside the car of Congress leader and Assam State Youth Congress General Secretary, Abdur Rejjak, who was campaigning along with other Congress workers in Chaygaon.

According to reports, the incident came to light after an election related heated situation at Hatipara area last night. Rejjak and his vehicle were attacked by an angry mob and found cash worth several lakhs inside his vehicle.

It was alleged that the ticket denied candidates have attacked Rejjak. On the other hand, Rejjak flee from the scene instantly after the mob found cash in his vehicle.

Meanwhile, police immediately rushed to the spot to control the situation and likely to question Rejjak regarding the incident.
