Congress MLA Abdul Khalek assures to support formation of an alternative government

Pratidin Bureau

With Assam furious over BJP due to the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 and the recent petrol-diesel price rise, a proposal for an alternative government formation has been put forth.

After HD Kumaraswamy's swearing-in ceremony in Karnataka, where the anti-BJP leaders shared stage sending a message for the upcoming general elections, 2019, Assam Congress has also come forward to offer support to AGP and BPF in formation of an anti- BJP government.

Congress MLA Abdul Khalek said that it is time that Assam voices against BJP as they pose as a threat towards the state.

However, Khalek has alleged that there is a high possibility of AGP MLAs along with MLA Atul Bora who would join BJP if the Citizenship Amendment Bill is passed.
