Cotton University Students’ Stages Protest Against Uniforms

The Cotton University students staged a protest on Monday against the university's plan to introduce uniforms.

The universitydecision of introducing uniform for the students studying in higher secondarycourses from the next academic session to be started from August 1, 2019 hasbeen strictly condemned by the students.

A universitystudent said that the administration should focus on other problems likeshortage of teachers and filling up of vacancies in the university rather thanto introduce uniforms. The student further said that one of the unique featuresof the university is that students belonging to different communities showcasetheir cultural diversity through their clothes.

The studentsof the university strongly opposed the administration's decision of introducinguniforms for the students. They also submitted a memorandum to theVice-Chancellor regarding the same.
