Cottonians boycott classes

Pratidin Bureau

The Cotton University Students' Union (CUSU) on Tuesday declared an indefinite class boycott to protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The indefinite class boycott has started from today (Jan 9).

CUSU also planned to initiate a united student movement against the Bill across the State.

The CUSU has convened a meeting on Wednesday among the student unions of all colleges and universities of Guwahati to discuss about the matter.

Tezpur university students' council also clarified their stand against the Bill. In a press release, the students' council firmly opposed the Bill and urged the people of Assam to continue the ongoing protest.
