Batadrava rape-murder case: Court awards death penalty to the accused

Court has awarded death penalty as punishment for the prime accused in the horrific incident of rape and murder of a minor girl that had brought Batadrava of Nagaon into headlines.

The Nagaon District and Session's Court gave death penalty as punishment for the prime accused, Zakir Hussain, in the rape and murder of a minor, on Friday.

It may be noted that along with the prime accused, those held guilty for tampering with the evidence, namely, Abdul Rejak, Jubeda Khatun, Mukhlesur Rahman, Abdul Rasid and Fakaruddin have been declared not guilty by Rita Kaur's Court.

A father to two children, Hussain has been accused of raping a minor, who was also his neighbour, and later murdering her with sharp objects.
