COVID-19: 449 Patients Discharged Today in Assam

Although the testing for COVID-19 has gone up in the state amidst increasing fears of community transmission, and more and more people are being found getting infected with the contagion, people are also recovering from the infection. On Monday, 449 COVID-19 patients have been discharged.

This has been confirmed by Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today. Taking to twitter, he wrote, "Delighted to share that while cases are increasing, we have been able to maintain a good recovery rate." He further wrote, "449 patients have been discharged today."

With this, the total discharged tally in the state stands at 7882, and the number of active patients is 3837. 690 patients were similarly discharged on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, during a press meet, Sarma had hinted at the possibility of extending the ongoing lockdown in Kamrup Metro. He had also urged the people to be extra cautious, as the situation is becoming more alarming with the sudden spike in cases.
