Assam on Friday has recorded 1130 new active cases of coronavirus infection, pushing the total number of active cases to 9143.

Guwahati has reported 417 new cases today, while, Cachar has reported 104.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commenting on the improving status of recoveries said, "Out of 16178 samples in the last 24 hours, we recorded low positivity rate of 6.98%". So far, the state has had 20699 recoveries.

Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 76. The total positive cases now stand at 29,921.
