COVID-19 Assam: Another Patient Dies

Another person in Assam is likely to have succumbed to the COVID-19 contagion on Saturday, taking the total death toll of the state to 37. The deceased person's name is Shanta Acharjee (40). She was admitted at GMCH.

This was informed by Assam's Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He added that the deceased had a history of pneumonia, type-2 diabetes and hypothyroidism.

However, Sarma mentioned that the Death Audit Board is yet to ascertain whether the underlying cause of death of Acharjee is COVID-19.

Earlier in the day, Assam lost one life to the virus. The deceased's name was Nripen Debnath.
