COVID-19 Guwahati: Quarantine Centre converted into 250-bed hospital

Ahead of the lockdown in Guwahati due to the rise in the cases for COVID-19, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday declared a quarantine centre has been converted into a 250-bed COVID-19 hospital in Guwahati.

Sarma tweeted, "Our efforts to step up infrastructure for #COVID19 management continue. A quarantine centre is being converted into a 250-bed Covid Hospital at Patanjali Yogpeeth, Mirza, Palashbari. I visited it along with senior health officials today and reviewed all arrangements".

To curb further spread of COVID-19 in the city, a lockdown of fourteen days have been imposed from Sunday evening onwards.
