COVID-19 Karbi Anglong: community spread suspected

The spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in West Karbi Anglong has resulted in the community spread of the coronavirus disease.

On Saturday, a frontline health worker at a Dokmoka scanning centre has tested COVID-19 positive.

Furthermore, the district administration of Karbi Anglong has also declared 'Chitra Hotel' as a containment zone.

The number of COVID-19 cases has surged to 272 cases in the Karbi Anglong district with 31 active cases and three reported deaths. Meanwhile, there has been speed recovery with 238 cases.

According to the data (July 23) of the district Deputy Commissioner's checklist, the total number of persons present in quarantine facilities is 451.
