COVID-19 Patient Sustains Head Injury, Dies at BMCH

A COVID-19 patient at Barpeta Medical College and Hospital (BMCH) died on Thursday after he was critically injured while he tried to abscond from the hospital.

The patient identified as Joynuddin Sheikh of Jogighopa in Bongaigaon district tried to abscond from the quarantine center when he sustained a severe head injury.

He was admitted to BMCH and was in ventilator. A neurologist from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has also been called for his treatment at BMCH.

BMCHSuperintendent said that the patient died because of severe head injury.
