In the wake of coronavirus cases across Guwahati city, an important decision was taken by the Guwahati Kabristan Committee on Saturday whereby the funeral services of the deceased will take place in their respective local Kabristan (cemetery).

The decision has been taken by the six major Kabirstans of the city.

It is noteworthy, the funeral services can be performed in accordance with religious customs and government regulations set for precautions to be taken during the funeral due to coronavirus outbreak.

An appeal has been made to equip each cemetery in the city with PPE kits.
