COVID Sikkim: ITBP Launches Cycling Expedition

The 11th battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police on Sunday launched a cycling expedition across Sikkim to create awareness on coronavirus related issues, an ANI report said.

The ITBP team would start the expedition from its Pegong base in North Sikkim and will travel to border villages of the state, it said.

Besides, educating on COVID-19 and its related issues, the team will also organise medical and veterinary camps and distribute hygiene and sanitation items, it further added.

A total of 218 kilometres will be covered by the team in the course of 20 days in difficult terrains.

Minister of Culture, Road and Bridges of Sikkim Samdup Lepcha flagged off the expedition.
