Curtain falls on North East Book Fair

The curtain came down on the twelve-day North East Book Fair at Assam Engineering Institute playground on Tuesday.
Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya was present as guest at the closing ceremony.

The All Assam Publishers and Booksellers Association informed that books worth around Rs 4.5 crore were sold this time.
It may be mentioned that Books on ULFA (I) have entered in the list of best sellers in the 20th North East Book Fair.

Books written by Late Parag Kumar Das – 'Sanglat Fenla', 'Nisiddha Kalam Aru Anyanya', 'Swadhin Oxomor Arthaniti' etc received an overwhelming response this time.

According to organisers, various books like Hiren Gohain's 'Bastabata Aru Chetanar Swapna' -, Mrinal Talukdar's 'Mandalaya', Jitendra Kumar Choudhury's 'Asomoloi Bideshi Prabajan-Nehrur Pora Modiloi', Kishore Kumar Kalita's 'Bhal Din Ahil Ne ?' got tremendous response from readers.
