Cyclone Fani: Assam’s tourists asked to board special trains before May 3

Withrail services cut off to and fro Odisha due to the Cyclone Fani, many touristsfrom Assam are stranded in the state. Most of the tourists are those had gonefor pilgrimage to Puri.

Expressingconcern, Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged the people of Assam stranded inOdisha to board the special trains, provided by Railways, to Howrah before May03 for their own safety and security.

Pertainingto the inevitable circumstances, Railways have announced three special trainsfor those tourists stranded in Puri, where the cyclone is most likely to make alandfall

The EastCoast Railway (ECoR) of Indian Railways has stated that it will run the specialtrains with reserved and unreserved berths from Puri. The first train starts at12 pm, the second at 3 pm and the third at 6 pm today.

According to an ECoR official, the train is scheduled to make stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur and finally Howrah.

Further,this train will comprise of General, Sleeper, 3A and 2A coaches. The train isexpected to reach Bhubaneswar around 1.30 pm.
