Debabrat Saikia Demands Sonowal’s Resignation

Leader of Opposition, Debabrat Saikia demanded resignation of Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal saying that the CM has worked as a doll of the Centre.

Addressinga press conference, Saikia said, "It is very unfortunate that the chiefminister wants to control the protests against Citizenship (Amendment) Act(CAA)."

Saikia demanded judicial inquiry into the violence that has been erupted by the home guards and that the inquiry should be done by the Chief Justice of India.

Saikiaalso termed the statement of Narendra Modi as ill-fated. Prime MinisterNarendra Modi on Monday had commented on the clothes of the protestors.

Theopposition leader further termed Himanta Biswa Sarma's statement that there isa third party involved in the violence as regrettable adding that he made thestatement in order to make a conspiracy against the Congress leaders to makethem serve jail term.
