Debabrata Saikia reacts on ‘Chalo Paltai’

Leader of opposition party in the Assam Legislative Assembly Debabrata Saikia reacted to the slogan 'Chalo Paltai' saying that the slogan was used in Tripura some two years ago. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has campaigned with this slogan in Tripura and now it has been started in Assam.

Speakingabout Sanaullah, Debabrata Saikia said that the case should have a judicialenquiry.

Reiteratingabout the topic of National Register of Citizens (NRC), Saikia said that thestate needs a foreigner free NRC. "A foreigner free NRC is required. We canrely on the case intervened by court but in NRC related case intervened by thecourt there are mistakes in the data."

Hefurther reiterated that many Indians don't have documents but they cannot besaid as non-Indians. He also stated that a committee should be formed by takingpolitical parties and AASU members and that a committee should be formed inevery areas and if the committee have any doubt regarding the NRC they shouldobject to it.
