Delhi: Assam leaders arrested ahead of Jan 27 Protest

On the eve of Republic day celebration, Delhi Police has arrested eight leaders and activists of seventy organisations of Assam, which are combating to scrap the BJP-proposed contentious Citizenship Bill.

Ahead of fresh anti-government protest in New Delhi on January 27, Police detained the delegation from a hotel in Delhi-NCR.

Assam has been rocked by more than a week of anti-government protests sparked by Citizenship Bill issue, ST status, Bodoland issue etc.

The leaders and activists of seventy organisations are now in the custody of Delhi Sansad Marg Police Station.
